Thanks for all the good suggestions for an appropriate fabric to make the shirt/jacket.  I have ordered some swatches of shantung, poly/cotton, cotton/lycra. 

And, thank you for the nice comments about my gray felted jacket.  I appreciate each and every one.  Sewing is an isolated art , and it's wonderful to be able to share ideas with one another.  I have learned so much through your blogs.

A verification word popped up recently that I liked.  It is:  BLOGET.   I will use that word in place of "bloggers".
