I worked on my jacket for a couple of hours today. The front neckline, which is a long "v" (before collar) needs taping so it doesn't stretch. Did that. The samples I made with slot seams didn't please me. Scratch that idea.
This jacket has princess seams, front and back. I pressed them open, and topstitched each side. The topstitching is 3/8" from the seam. I angled the stitching line in to the middle of the seam a couple of times, just for something different. I like the look of that. The collar is put together. That's as far as I got today. More tomorrow.
There are quite a few people who are sewing vintage patterns. I'm sure this has been posted before, but there is a really good online reference for vintage techniques.
